Digital Lifestyle | mWell: The First Fully Integrated Health App in the Philippines!

Pasig, Philippines, 21st groundbreaking firsts in digital healthcare as the Philippines’ first fully integrated health app at the forefront of innovation anchored on good health and well-being.

In an event dubbed as PH1 hosted by no less than beauty queen, TV personality and youth advocate Catriona Gray, mWell celebrated the many firsts in a little over a year of its pilot launch and announced other pioneering efforts that help redefine not only telemedicine but the entire healthcare landscape.

PH1 witnessed the full display of mWell app features that showcase its holistic approach to telemedicine—from doctor consultation, e-pharmacy, emergency services and home care—                     to fitness and nutrition programs. Beyond patient care, it has also designed a cutting edge Electronic Medical Records and clinic management system for partner-doctors.

MPIC President, Chairman and CEO, Manny V. Pangilinan says, “Metro Pacific Group’s

mWell is the Philippines’ first fully integrated health app which brings together experts in technology, medicine, wellness, and healthcare in one sustainable living ecosystem. This high-performing platform gives access to quality healthcare and   empowers our countrymen to be in control of their health as they rebuild their lives coming out of the pandemic. We shall continue to set the standards in digital healthcare as we build a healthier nation and be recognized as the flag carrier for innovative digital healthcare in the Philippines.”

mWell’s many firsts include:

· First health app available globally to migrant workers/OFWs

· First to offer the most affordable telemedicine with free accident insurance package via the Healthsavers Plan

· First to launch the biggest nationwide digital medical mission with hundreds of volunteer doctors simultaneously providing free consultation all over the country through the National mWellness Day

· First to offer a wellness score developed by data scientists--the mWellness Score which measures physical activity, steps, and sleep

· First to provide a cutting-edge, full suite clinic management system designed by doctors for doctors—mWellMD

· First to provide a portable mobile digital clinic to remote communities in the country—mWell OnTheGo

“We are celebrating so many firsts through sheer dedication, passion and purpose. We were able to come up with these firsts in terms of product features, innovations not only for patients but also for doctors.  We believe that uplifting the lives of Filipinos is a prerequisite to national progress. That’s why mWell helps uplift lives by providing access to better health, which after all is a basic right. It is both a digital health service and an advocacy because at the heart of mWell firsts is our mission to bring healthcare closer to more Filipinos as we make health and wellness available and accessible to anyone, anytime, anywhere,” says MPIC Chief Finance, Risk and Sustainability Officer Chaye Cabal-Revilla.

The culture of innovation continues for mWell—not just as a super app but as a fully integrated healthcare ecosystem that truly responds to the needs of Filipinos. Another first to be launched soon is the mWell Wellness Wearable. This is designed to democratize and empower more Filipinos by making wellness wearables more affordable especially in regional areas. Using the mWell Wellness Wearable, anyone can easily and more accurately track steps, physical activity, and sleep time through the mWellness Score on their watch.  Soon they can even monitor temperature, oxygen level, heart rate and other vital signs that will make teleconsultation easier on the app. Another telemedicine innovation in the pipeline is the mWell kiosk to be used by local government units for their medical missions.

Digital Lifestyle | mWell is Health in Your Fingertips

mWell launches the country’s first health app wellness tracker via the nationwide Zumba® Fitfest Tour

Continuously breaking new grounds in digital healthcare, Metro Pacific Investments Corporation’s (MPIC) mWell, the Philippines’ first fully integrated health app, is partnering with the country’s top Zumba masters to launch the mWellness Score via the mWell Fitfest Tour Zumba challenge that kicked off in Cebu.

mWellness Score is a personal in-app health tracker which measures the amounts of exercise, light activity, sedentary behavior and sleep everyday using data-driven methods.

The mWell Fitfest Tour is led by celebrity dance diva, choreographer, and top Zumba instructor, Ms. Regine Tolentino. Through it, Zumba communities around the country will get the first crack at mWellness Score via the nationwide Zumba challenge that kicked off in Cebu last Oct. 7 where hundreds of participants danced the weekend away in the Dance Workout 3.0 Marathon held at the Insular Square in Mandaue City.

The workout series continues in Mandaue, Bohol, Pampanga, Marikina, Las Pinas and Quezon City.  Zumba enthusiasts may join the event for free, dance their way to a healthier lifestyle and get the chance to bring home gift vouchers, shirts, and smartwatches. All they have to do is download the mWell app, start using the mWellness Score feature and flex their scores on their social media pages.

“I’m really excited to partner with mWell for this event. You won’t feel like it’s a dreaded workout. Just dress up, feel beautiful and empowered as you move to the music. You’ll burn a ton of calories too!

It will be a blast. By monitoring my mWellness Score as I teach Zumba, I can easily stay fit and healthy, lower the risk of getting sick and be more productive,” she adds.

In support of the fitness campaign, MPIC’s Finance, Risk and Sustainability Officer and wellness enthusiast Ms. Chaye Cabal-Revilla says, “Zumba is a happy pill.  It’s a fun and easy way to be healthy and beat stress at work. In our spare time, we even have Zumba breaks in the office. And with the mWellness Score, you can track your performance versus other mWell app users. This feature also helps monitor step count, physical activity, and sleep.”

Through the mWellness Score, mWell mobile app users can easily access a handy guide to developing a healthy lifestyle for long-term health, without having to spend on extra gadgets or wearables.

Designed for those who lead a busy life, the mWellness Score enables app users to be in control of their health, reach their fitness goals and make informed lifestyle choices to prevent chronic diseases. No need for a drastic lifestyle change. All it takes are a few tweaks to make space for physical activity and adequate sleep regularly. To make the path to fitness more exciting, mWell users can set personalized goals, or interact with others on the app, making wellness organically part of their lifestyle. They can get their daily mWellness Score for free by simply clicking on the Wellness icon on the app.

This latest innovation from mWell comes on the heels of National mWellness Day, the biggest nationwide digital medical mission. The fastest-growing health app which provides doctor consultations and serves as a wellness guide, has earlier won Best Initiative in Technological Innovation in The Asset ESG Corporate Awards--one of the world’s leading and longest-running honors in the environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG) space.

Aside from the mWellness Score, mWell has also made available customized fitness and nutrition programs developed by Olympians and exercise physiologists as well as calorie-controlled recipes created by dietitians and nutritionists.

Event | mWell's First National mWellness Day: A Success!

mWell Helps Thousands of Filipinos in Historic Nationwide Virtual Medical Mission

Filipinos no longer need to bear the burden of outdated medical care. The whole country was given respite from the worries of getting quality medical care with National mWellness Day by mWell, the country’s only fully integrated health and wellness mobile app.

Kara David, founder of Project Malasakit, hosted the online event in the National mWellness Day culminating activity states, “As caretakers, guardians, or as a parent, the anxiety and challenges of getting quality medical care is heightened especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. The first ever virtual medical mission by mWell PH brings health and wellness closer to people. Nakakalungkot, subalit totoong may kakulangan sa healthcare para tugunan ang pangangailangan ng ating mga kababayan.” (“It’s disheartening to note that there is a lack of quality healthcare needed by Filipinos.”)

On September 4 and 5, 2021, the first nationwide online medical mission in the Philippines took place via the mWell app by Metro Pacific Health Tech Corporation (MPHTC), which provided free consultations with primary care and specialized doctors.

Despite hectic schedules in the medical field at this time of crisis, a number of doctors willingly gave their time and expertise to a bigger mission, and this is giving the gift of wellness to Filipinos. With the medical community, mWell is transforming the country’s digital health landscape by providing professional consultations, medical diagnosis, care and treatment plans.

A volunteer obstetrician and gynecologist, Dr. Melani Camarillo Espino explained how she adjusted to the pandemic by transitioning from limiting her clinic calls to telemedicine so that she can be contacted anytime, anywhere. Using the mWell platform, her initial apprehension was cleared because she discovered how user-friendly it is and technical support was prompt. She recommended it to her patients.

“Using mWell is just like making a private house call with my patients from the comforts of their homes. The flow of my virtual consultations are smooth, plus I gained more patients through the app.” said Dr. Espino. Being one of the volunteers for National Wellness Day, she wants to reach out to more patients even in remote areas who are afraid to go out, and provide quality and accessible health care via the use of mWell app.

Building momentum to accelerate positive change in healthcare, mWell now features 24/7 doctor on-call services. Filipinos can consult with a doctor anytime through the mWell app with online teleconsultations from a roster of general practitioners and specialty doctors nationwide. Get much-needed access to health professionals from the safety and comfort of home.

Tech Lifestyle | mWELL: Philippines' First Fully Integrated Health and Wellness App with MPIC

The Philippines, especially the previous year, continuously adopt the use of digital technologies to reach customers who chose to shop and receive services through e-commerce platforms. Not only that shopping applies to goods like clothing, utensils, home decors and groceries, but it includes health and wellness services and products. With the use of an app, it still gives an opportunity to receive health and wellness services and products to customers.

Here's a story about mWELL, MPIC's offering to deliver healthcare services through an app:

MPIC Set to Transform Healthcare Delivery with mWELL, PH’s First Fully Integrated Health & Wellness App

Makati, Philippines, June 28, 2021 - Healthcare in the Philippines now becomes more accessible with mWell, the country’s first fully integrated, one-stop health & lifestyle app aimed at transforming the way healthcare is delivered through online doctor consultations, health education, wellness programs, online pharmacy services, and more.

Soon to be launched by Metro Pacific Health Tech Corporation (MPHTC), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Metro Pacific Investments Corporation (PSE: MPI), mWell is an all-in-one app designed for every Filipino’s demand for treatment and care during this pandemic where connecting patients with doctors and medical professionals has become very challenging.
