Photography Workshop Participants
CTTO: Ate Jojie and CLGU Mati

A recent trip in Mati City, Davao Oriental, with Ate Jojie Alcantara and friends, has been possible with the support of the City Government of Mati in Davao Oriental. It has been a very productive travel and I shall forever be grateful with this opportunity. It is not only a 3-day travel but a chance to meet some photographers in the area with the photography workshop of Ate Jojie, and be able to capture 3 beautiful destinations in the city.

It is indeed a welcoming day for all of us and we have had the chance to meet Hon. Michelle Nakpil-Rabat, City Mayor of Mati, Mr. Ben Tesiorna, City Information Officer, and Hon. Nelson Dayanghirang, Governor of the Province of Davao Oriental.

Our second day is set with the workshop conducted at the Baywalk Hotel. There are a number of participants coming from different places and the farthest is from Davao City. It is indeed a very cool opportunity to have met such people in the photography community and honing their craft. Ate Jojie Alcantara has been very inspiring to this batch and she has taught them a lot of techniques to improve the way they capture their subject with different perspective and angle. The participants also have become very excited as the workshop is jampacked with a lot of surprises. The workshop is also supported by various products like
Fuji Film Philippines,
Bioskin Coco,
BioSkin Philippines,
Dhan's Gadget Shop Davao,
Angels and Crystals, and
MX3. These products are given away to the photographers who have done their best shot in the 3 destinations to capture within a limited time.

First stop for the destination shoot is at
Bahia Beach Resort. It is a very calming destination wherein, for me, the boardwalk with the cottage is their prime attraction, aside from their side sand beach. Guest photographers have taken their best shot in the area and the best shot is taken by
Bobcat. He is also the recipient to the newest Fujifilm Instax Square SQ6 Film Camera from Fujifilm Philippines through Ate Jojie. Congratulations!

Next stop is at Dahican Beach. The place is very popular with its white sand beach with a 7 kilometers of coastline. It is also where turtles lay their eggs, and the community helps to preserve it as it is an undisturbed habitat. Aside from the sand and beach, it is also a popular area for skimboarders. Sir
Bobong have gotten this unedited shot of one skimboarder against the waves, flying.

The last destination is at the Provincial Capitol of Davao Oriental. It is the seat of power of the provincial government. It is like the famous white house of the United State from afar. It is also a park where the people can enjoy unwinding with beautiful scenery and designs from the floor and its garden.

I believe the participants of the participants are now very prepared for the
Sambuokan Festival 2019 Dagway sa Sambuokan Contest. I wish everybody the best of luck! :-)
Not only the workshop participants have taken their great shots in the destinations. I also made some shots. I have made a monochrome approach and sport setting. We, bloggers and vloggers, who attended the workshop also have the chance to join by posting in our own social media accounts (

Indeed, Mati City has so much to offer in terms of destinations. We have visited only a few. I am also glad that I am able to do some practice shoot as a hobby.
Our second day dinner is at a very private place known as
Kanakbai Beach Resort.

It is a pretty quiet place with white sand beach, rooms for rent, function area and delicious food to fill your tummy. It is my first time in the area and it pretty relaxing here.
