Event | Batang Quiapo in Kapamilya Channel!

Just recently, Direk Coco Martin and cast of Batang Quiapo has conducted a mediacon on a hybrid set up whereby a number of friends from media, social media and other platforms asked questions for this another masterpiece to be aired in the Kapamilya Channel. It is another FPJ movie that will be shown in primetime television with very stellar cast gathered by Coco Martin himself. Lovi Poe, daughter of the late FPJ, will also be among the cast of the show. It will showcase the life and scenes in Quiapo - something very colorful, religiously affiliated and an arena of people for their day to day living.

The trailer of the show is really promising that the story will again connect with the audience. As this is the second time that Coco Martin plays an FPJ role, will this be another Ang Probinsyano that lasted for 7 years?

Primetime King Coco Martin returns for more action-packed adventures in another Kapamilya teleserye inspired by Fernando Poe Jr.’s 1986 film “Batang Quiapo” that will air beginning this February 13 at 8 PM on Kapamilya Channel, A2Z, and TV5. 

After making a mark in the hearts of viewers as the hero cop Cardo Dalisay in “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano,” Coco is back to give life to yet another exciting, resilient “tagapagtanggol ng bayan” character as Tanggol/Baldo in the series. 

Coco will be joined by a star-studded cast, including the daughter of FPJ “Da King,” Lovi Poe, which will be her first time to work on an FPJ title. 

In a teaser shared by ABS-CBN recently, Coco shared his excitement about giving viewers another FPJ series that’s not only filled with intense action scenes but also important life values that viewers can learn from. 

“Napakalaking bagay nito na napapalabas namin ang kanyang mga pelikula na nagawa. Nakakapagbigay kami ng napakagandang kwento at inspirasyon sa lahat ng mga Pilipino,” said Coco. 

“Batang Quiapo,” which will be Coco’s first time to serve as an actor, co-director, and co-producer under CCM Film Productions, will also showcase the rich culture and beauty of the beloved town of Quiapo.

“Napaka-rich ng kultura niya, lahat ng mga buhay o kwento ng bawat taong nasa Quiapo. Napakalawak ng kwento at isa pa ito sa mga pelikulang talagang tumatak sa mga ginawa ni FPJ at ni Ms. Maricel Soriano,” Coco adds. 

In the action-comedy series, Coco plays Tanggol/Baldo, a stubborn yet loving son to his mother (Cherry Pie Picache), father (John Estrada), grandmother (Charo Santos), and younger brother (McCoy de Leon). Lovi, meanwhile, plays Mokang, Tanggol’s charming friend who will put up with his shenanigans. 

“Batang Quiapo” also stars Benzon Dalina, Mark Lapid, Ronwaldo Martin, Jojit Lorenzo, Ping Medina, Mercedes Cabral, Alan Paule, Lou Veloso, Susan Africa, Pen Medina, Lito Lapid, Irma Adlawan, and Christopher de Leon. Direk Malu Sevilla will co-direct the series with Coco. 

Don’t miss Coco’s action-packed return in “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo” on weeknights at 8 PM on Kapamilya Channel, A2Z, TV5, iWantTFC, and Kapamilya Online Live on ABS-CBN Entertainment’s YouTube channel and Facebook page. Viewers who use any digital TV box at home such as the TVplus box only need to rescan their device to be able to watch “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo” on TV5 and A2Z. The show is also available to viewers in and out of the Philippines on iWantTFC, while viewers outside of the Philippines can watch on The Filipino Channel (TFC) on cable and IPTV.
