Application of Visa to Korea for Filipino Travelers

Requirements for the Korean Visa Processing for Filipino Tourists
It is in my bucketlist to visit a country that has four seasons or at least to experience winter or spring. The winter season excites me to see the places covered with snow or experience snowfall itself. The spring season also excites me to see flowers bloom especially the sakura! With that being said, I want it somewhere in Japan or South Korea. At least it is near the Philippines and not much of adjustment with time. :-)

Those seasons will be a bit challenging for a Southeast Asian like me. But before anything else, I need to get a ticket going there! Aside from the ticket, the processing of a visa is next for a Filipino passport holder like me. :-)

It takes much patience to wait for a seatsale of a low cost carrier plane. Another option, though, is to use points accumulated from frequent air travel like the miles or any airline card that offers it. I got mine through this option and I paid just less than a US$100 for a round trip ticket. Isn't it great? ;-)

Now, to process the visa to the Republic of Korea, there are certain requirements that need to be fulfilled, which I got from the embassy, to wit:
1) Application form (Available online at the embassy's website or get it personally at the embassy during your application.)
2) 1 piece Passport size colored picture (this will be put on the application form.)
3) Original Passport (valid for 6 months before departure)
4) Photocopy of Passport First Page (bio-data page)
5) Original & Copy of valid visa and arrival stamps to OECD member countries for the past 5 years
6) Original Certificate of Employment [must include applicant's position, date hired, compensation, address, office landline number (cell-phone number is not allowed), e-mail address]
7) Original Bank Certificate [must include account type, current balance, account opening date, 6 months average daily balance (ADB)]
8) Bank Statement (original or certified true copy of bank statements/pass book for the last 3 months - I did bring my original passbook and it was returned immediately after verification)
9) ITR (Income Tax Return) or Form 2316 Copy
10) Copy of PRC Card or IBP Card (if applicable only)

If you have accomplished these, you are good to go in the Korean Embassy and process your visa located in Taguig City. Please be guided that the application of Visa is only in the morning, 8AM to 11:30 AM. While the claiming of the visa is 7 working days after your application or upon the instruction of the embassy officer and only in the afternoon, 1:30PM to 4PM. I did a do-it-yourself visa processing so I personally am there while other people did a no-show application and it is okay. :-)
South Korean Visa
The Korean Visa is free of charge for a Filipino staying in South Korea for less than 59 days. Your visa will be effective within 3 months (90 days) after receipt of it. :-)

I will be giving some details of my South Korean trip and thank you to my friends who got part of it.

Enjoy visiting my avenue, www.ten7avenue.com.
