Earlier
this year, Tripadvisor released the
list of top 25 destinations in the world which you were able to read here in my
avenue. Tripadvisor is one of those websites that travelers
around the globe rely for information (through traveler reviews) and good news
that they have added a portion on booking hotels. :-)
Now, the said website released a list of TOP 25 WORLD LANDMARKS!
The list is definitely among those most visited places in the world. I am pretty happy to know that there are landmarks from the Southeast Asia that were able to get into the top 25. Here's the list, to wit:
1) Machu Picchu, Peru
2) Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque
Center, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates
3) Angkor Wat, Siem Reap,
Cambodia
4) St. Peter's Basilica,
Vatican City, Italy
5) Taj Mahal, Agra, India
6) Mosque-Cathedral of Cordoba,
Cordoba, Spain
7) Church of the Savior on
Spilt Blood, St. Petersburg, Russia
8) The Alhambra, Granada,

9) Lincoln Memorial Reflecting
Pool, Washington DC, District of Columbia
10) Milan Cathedral, Milan,
Italy
11) Golden Gate Bridge, San
Francisco, California
12) Hagia Sophia Museum/Church
(Ayasofya), Istanbul, Turkey
13) Grand-Place, Brussels,
Belgium
14) Eiffel Tower, Paris,
France
15) Notre Dame Cathedral,
Paris, France
16) Great Wall at Mutianyu,
Beijing, China
17) Acropolis, Athens,
Greece
18) Corcovado - Cristo Redentor,
Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
19) Big Ben, London, United
Kingdom
20) Chichen Itza, Mexico
21) Temple of the Reclining
Buddha (Wat Pho), Bangkok, Thailand
22) Burj Khalifa, Dubai,
United Arab Emirates
23) Australian War Memorial,

24) Sydney Opera House,
Sydney, Australia
25) Fushimi Inari-taisha Shrine,

The list is very well-represented from different continents of the world. Pretty amazing! I do hope that I will be able to visit some of those places, too. LOL
There may be various landmarks in the world but of course the Top 25 is among those reviewed by travelers around the world. Every one's participation in reviewing a certain place will help the network of people, who use Tripadvisor, to know our very own places and hopefully be one of the best landmarks.
Thank you very dropping by my avenue!
More stories to come, enjoy!!!
