If you want to find an inner peace, make it happen to travel within your means. Find a place where you can relax and enjoy nature’s beauty - make a "cool story". In Davao City, there’s a number of it and one of it is the Davao Bamboo Sanctuary and Ecological Park.

Some influencers in Davao are given the opportunity to witness the beauty and elegance of Davao Bamboo Sanctuary and Ecological Park. It is located at Malagos, Baguio District, Davao City. It is approximately an hour road trip from downtown Davao City and it isn’t my first time to visit the place, but I still enjoy the commuting feels from a bustling metropolis towards a sanctuary with lush jungle-like environment.

Such as pick up time, when guests will be fetched at a mall in Calinan (Gaisano Grand).

What are the things I really like in the place, I will name you a few…

Davao Bamboo Sanctuary and Ecological Park

First, as a nature lover, nature’s presence is felt everywhere with very vibrant plants, cool wind, spring water, and long bamboo trees around. You will really feel energized from being weary of every day’s job or business. It has also become an opportunity for many amateur and professional photographers to take as much photo in the sanctuary and share to social media accounts. It is really inviting!

Geodesic Dome

Second, as a person who can appreciate architectural structures, I really love the geodesic dome. Yes, the dome is 60 meters in diameter; it can cater 450 persons in an event. It is said to be the biggest geodesic dome in Davao City and assumed even in the whole country. The structure really has its identity and proudly erected in Davao City. It is like a treasure carved out from the wilderness!

Cool Spring Pool

Third, the cool spring pool, your body is refreshed once you dip in the water. Tried this in my first visit, and indeed, it is refreshing!

Not only that the pool is the body of water inside the ecological park, but there’s a pond with some vegetation, too.

Fourth, as an advocate of the environment, advocacy on bamboo use and display is a two thumbs up! It is a time to give a brief overview of bamboo’s advantages and uses - educational and good for learners! In the world, there are 1500 species of bamboo and 32 of which can be seen in the park.

Fifth, as an outgoing individual, few outdoor activities can be played! Yes, they have an archery tag (form a team of 3 members), kayaking or gondola ride, drive of ATV and fishing. Among those activities, I loved the archery tag. It is an adrenaline releasing activity, so be sure to bring an extra shirt coming to the place.

Intercontinental Cuisine Buffet

Sixth, their food in buffet is awesome! For our visit, they served us about 30 dishes and some desserts with drinks. I love the shrimps, pork, chicken, vegetables, noodles (pancit) and the moringa juice! Though I like everything that is served!

The whole area is approximately 3.5 hectares and only 1 hectare is currently developed. Soon enough, more development will be put in and roads going to the park will be improved, too. It will not only be a day tour (P250 for entrance fee) park, but also a place where people can stay overnight (room rates range from P2500 to P5200) for some activities. Events are accommodated, too!

Sport | Mall Archery Range in Davao City

Eyeing the Target

Earlier this year, I have posted about a place in Davao City that will be flocked by aspiring archers, here.

Yes, I did try to unleash the archer in me. Lol

On the first try, those who will try to do archery are asked to read and sign a waiver. It says of the rules and understanding about the sport. So, no worries of signing the waiver, it will cause no harm. :-)

Targets to Choose

It is an indoor archery range. There are six (6) targets to choose from. There is also a demarcation line wherein archer's distance from the target is set. The cheapest option for the sport is two hundred pesos (P200), for twenty (20) arrows. The gears such as the arm protector and the bow and arrows are included in the payment. You will also be given instructions how to handle the bow, how to put arrows, what's the purpose of the arm protector, how to sight the target and how to position yourself to do the sport. That is pretty awesome, right?!! So, I, for myself, tried it! It will really be an exhausting pull of the bow if you are not used to stretching. Lol

I have done this two times already. First, out of curiousity, I am alone. Second, I brought my colleagues at the archery range, like a dozen. We enjoyed it!

Target Hits

During the first time, arrows were hitting everywhere in the target and even out of the target. Understandable, since it is my first time. On the second try, with my colleagues, there is a huge improvement. I have hit more arrows on the target constantly. It feels good! I feel that I belong to an archer family. Also, the play with my colleagues is like a training of archers from a familiar game like the Clash of Clans and Warcraft. It is really a fun-filled experience. ;-)

I know you also have that curiosity of how to play archery. That is also a sport known internationally, but of course the bows that will be used will somehow be different yet the concept is the same. Trying this is pretty awesome! It is just located at the activity center of one of the malls in Davao City. Who knows, you might be the next Katnis, Hawkeye or Legolas. ;-)

Sport | Archer's Place Soon in Davao City

It has been a fascination for me to be an archer, maybe not from a well-known university, but someone who really uses a bow and arrow. Just like Legolas of the Lord of the Rings, Katnis of  the Hunger Games and among other archers in a movie.

I have found such venues in Metro Manila, Philippines yet I am not able to visit because it is a bit far from where I stay.

So, now, here comes the ad of an ongoing construction of an archery range in Davao City, Philippines. The kid in me got excited and I am then looking forward to its completion and by then play at its range.

Its location is at the 4th floor of one of the biggest malls in the city wherein they call it as the Adventure Zone. No details yet have been posted regarding the price of doing the sport.

January 2016 will be the opening of this new sport venue in the city. #excited
