Event | Christmas Tree LIghting at Dusit Thani Lubi Plantation

Dusit Thani Lubi Plantation Christmas Tree in Blue and Gold

Dusit Thani Lubi Plantation Resort holds its first-ever Christmas Tree Lighting to welcome the season
With a promising line up of activities for the upcoming month, Dusit Thani Lubi Plantation Resort kicks off its holiday celebration with an intimate tree lighting ceremony highlighting its partnership with the Philippine Eagle Foundation.

Last November 26, Dusit Thani Lubi Plantation Resort begins the holiday cheer through its first-ever Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony. Attended by key industry partners, media friends, and the Dusit Team, the night was filled with meaningful pursuits. The hotel further shares the hope of the holidays with its official partnership with Philippine Eagle Foundation.

The hotel’s holiday campaign carries the hashtags #hopefulholidays and #delightfullydusit, embracing the promise of better days. This reflects in all aspects of the properties’ decorations, promotions, and CSR initiatives. The Christmas tree and other accents have the dominant colors of Dusit’s brand – blue and gold. Apart from paying homage to the colors of royalty and the graciousness of Thai culture, it also symbolizes warmth, hope, and the soothing feeling of the holiday season.

HM Christoph Kuch welcomes everyone with an inspiring message. “We are a young property, but we have managed to remain open. We believe that’s always been because of hope, hope always prevails.

Now, as we slowly bounce back, trust that we will strive to be of service to you the best we can. The holiday season is an exciting time, and we have been preparing to give you exactly that,” he said.

A Momentous Christmas Seaon Celebration in Mabini, Davao de Oro

This was followed by the Christmas messages of Ms. Beth Dayanghirang, wife of Mabini Mayor Rey Dayanghirang, and Provincial Tourism Officer of Davao De Oro, Ms. Christine Dompor, highlighting the value of having to intimately and safely celebrate again. The support of the province and the region were highly appreciated by the Dusit Davao Team.

In the introduction of this year’s holiday partner, MarCom Manager Faith Dimaano said, “Talking about standing tall amidst challenges, the inspiration for this year’s holiday partnership rooted from a common perspective – passion and commitment. The Philippine Eagle Foundation has been instrumental in the biggest of ways in raising awareness in the conservation mission and educating communities. It has been immensely affected during the pandemic, but has remained steadfast in its mission and vision.”

A Wonderful Collaboration

Dusit Davao is supporting the Fruits for Feathers fundraiser, sharing the wonderful artworks of Davao artists to our guests. It will also have displays of the PEF merchandise displayed in dusitD2 and Dusit Thani Lubi Plantation Resort starting this December.

The night was capped off with a delectable spread and teaser of holiday menus spearheaded by the culinary team of Burger Bar at The Mill and Tarictic Grill.

Starbucks Travel Organizer for the Seaon's Promo
Christmas season has already started in the Philippines as the "ber" month got into the calendar. Yes, you'll hear Christmas jingles already played anywhere and see some decorative displays pertaining the season. It is also a season when people gets excited on some food items to be put back on the menu and even some Christmas merchandises are making some surprises! Does that make you feel excited, too? Of course, it does!

Starbucks Philippines has set some surprises this year, too! Quite a number of food items, around fourteen (14), and drinks to be put in their Christmas menu. Not only that, the most awaited Starbucks organizer/planner and card will make a new wave. Yes, it is coming very soon!

Here are some of the food and drink items that will make your Starbucks experience very delightful this Christmas season, to wit:
The Baked Cheese Tart
1) The Baked Cheese Tart. It is one of my favorites! Why? It is because it points me back to a familiar taste, I know I have tasted but I forgot what that is but yes, I liked it! Well, you got to taste it too!
The Baked Burrito
2) The Baked Burrito. This is a shift from its original presentation that will wrapped towards an open baked burrito, which is healthier. This has pork which non-pork eaters cannot savour, but the taste is really good like a Mexican burrito presented differently.
The Chocolate Oat Cheesecake
3) The Chocolate Oat Cheesecake. It is an O-M-G! Yes, the chocolate lover in me is very much delightful with its chocolatey taste, some layers of oats alongside and much of the usual cheesecake. It is so heaven! A bit heavy but very fulfilling with your chocolate craving. It makes me drool, even thinking about it. LOL
The Vanilla Blueberry Cake
4) The Vanilla Blueberry Cake. This is the counterpart of the chocolate oat cheesecake. This is a light cake but very satisfying. The sweet tooth in me makes me dream and guilt-free to have another slice on my plate. The cake is soft, moist and fluffy with the blueberry filled in layers. Yum! Yum! Yum!
The best barista explaining the Christmas blend
5) The Christmas blend. I am pretty sorry if I am not much a coffee fan, but this coffee is really aromatic, fragrant. Tasted it and after the sip, it doesn’t stuck in your throat. It is like clearing out your esophagus with such a tasty coffee. For me, this is good! Well, I still want more tea! :p
The Toffee Nut Crunch Latte and Peppermint Mocha
6) The Toffee Nut Crunch Latte. Again, I am not much of a coffee fan but I am enjoying this beverage. Why? It is because of the toffee nut crunch it has that makes me enjoy biting. It is a right blend and not too sweet. It is pretty good! It can be served hot or cold.
Hot Toffee Nut Crunch Latte and Peppermint Mocha
7) The Peppermint Mocha. O-M-G! Yes, again, not much of a coffee fan but sipping it is having Christmas in your mouth! The colors, taste and soothing peppermint makes me sing jingle bells! It can also be served hot or cold.

Aside from the food… there’s more!

Event | Pasko Fiesta sa Davao 2017: "Candied"!

City Hall of Davao: Filled with Lights, Decorations and People
Pasko Fiesta sa Davao is an annual event of the City Government of Davao to celebrate the festive atmosphere of the Christmas season. This year's theme is a Candy Land. That is why you'll see colorful, round, sweet-looking decorations in the seat of power in the city. The event is also participated by the barangays as each barangay lit their places with colorful lights and designs, and joined some contests prepared by the city.

Sangguniang Panglungsod and Peace and Unity Monument
Christmas in the country is not complete without caroling. At the City Hall, there are chorale groups invited to serenade the people with Christmas songs and each group perform for an hour. This event is called the Panayegon sa Davao. This isn't a contest; this is different from the contest set for the event. The City Hall seems like an orchestra hall when the chorale groups sing and people listen.
Caroling at the City Hall
It is such a charming and lovely way to feel the vibe of Christmas with fellow locals and visitors who flock the city center. Aside from the decorations in the City Hall, there are nearby public spaces where related activities are conducted, too, like the KaanDabaw: a Davao Night Food Market.
KaanDabaw at Palma Gil Street
You will also see the giant lantern given by the Province of Pampanga as a gift to the People of Davao. This giant lantern is said to be Kadayawan-themed. It is so humbling to see such a gesture of gift giving from the province in the north to this city in the south.

There are really more activities set for the Pasko Fiesta. Below is the roster of events credit to the City Government of Davao. I am much awaiting for the Lamdag Parada or the Light Parade of various participants, this is also joined by a marching band. I am so excited! I hope you are, too!

Lifestyle | Decorated Season in the Philippines

Venetian Inspired Christmas Tree
The longest Christmas season is felt in the Philippines every year. It starts as early as September - the start of "ber" months, and count down for Christmas - and ends on the celebration of the Three Kings or Epiphany. That means a celebration from September to January!

Decorations at Ayala Avenue
Streets, buildings, churches, houses and malls are decorated with symbols of Christmas added with designs that help people flock to those vicinity and take photo opportunity. It is often something to anticipate as it excites millions of people in the country. Aside from the decorations, Christmas songs are also played. It may be the busiest season, it is also the jolliest!

Symphony of Lights in Ayala Triangle 2016
The waiting is getting nearer as the 9 mornings are celebrated before Christmas. It is also something that is expected when the puto bumbong and bibingka are sold just outside the churches. There are lots of parties anywhere and everywhere; people are bringing gifts from company celebrations or extending arms to less fortunate individuals.

Baclaran Church
In the Philippines, Christmas season is something to look forward. Some landmarks are well-decorated year after year. Hope you can view the videos below!

This year's symphony of lights is a 5-minute stretch of lights and sounds and plays around 7 in the evening. As always, it plays Christmas songs in a modern way with lights following the rhythm of the music - lights on and off. The most interesting part is the techno section in which the laser lights form a holographic visuals: you can view it in the second video. Cool, isn't it? This is among the places that people flock and keep still to capture a video of this magnificent show. This is free for everybody! There may be no white Christmas in the Philippines, this place in Makati will surely fulfill your fantasy of a glamorous and glittery Christmas! :-)

Anyways, have a happy holidays and a prosperous new year to come from my avenue, www.ten7avenue.com.

The Year 2-0-1-5!!!

Thanks to all the memories 2-0-1-4, another year is to be cherished and experienced.

The year 2-0-1-5 is finally in!

The entrance of 2015 has been celebrated all around the globe with a bang, as a lot of fireworks display been showcased among countries at their landmark areas. Just like at Burj Khalifa in Dubai, Sydney Opera House, New York Times Square, and others.

Happy Birthday to Brother Jesus

 Today is the day!

Today is Christmas Day!

Today is the birth of Jesus Christ!

Happy Birthday!!!

The Christmas tree has a star at its peak that shines towards the manger. The Christmas tree is decorated in a festive way to share the joy and excitement for the birth of Jesus Christ.

People sing songs of festive carol to remind us about the season of love and giving. People celebrate and eat together to share in a table to have a feast remembering the birth of Jesus Christ.

This food bazaar is situated at Araneta Cubao, Quezon City, Metro Manila where a lot of people pass by. It is a compound of many establishments and near to two train stations.

There are many food stalls in the vicinity showcasing variety of food. It is a variety from all time Filipino delicacies - such as the bibingka and puto bumbong - grilled food, stuffed pizza, sisig and others.

This one of the best that should be tasted. The bagnet rice - a sauteed chops of meat (pork or chicken) with vegetables, tofu, chili and onions as spices then poured with the bits of bagnet - deep-fried pork meat. This is served with rice, and it will make a full tummy after eating. :-)

The serving can be added with a sunny-side up egg and hotdog, depending on the customer's choice. :-)

Walking around the food bazaar, here is a distinct stall of stuffed pizza. It is showcasing thick-dough pizza where at the middle of the dough oozes some stuffed cheese or hotdog. It is a creative idea that will surely fill everyone's tummy. It has variety of flavors, too. Along side this stall showcases pasta also.

There is so much food in this bazaar. Not only the food but people also who stop and eat in this vicinity. It is really a festive community that celebrates the Christmas season. It opens a market for a less expensive food haven at the heart of Araneta Cubao.

Enjoy this holiday season!

Enjoy the visit at www.ten7avenue.com.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Yummy Tummy Treats before Christmas Day

Before the Christmas day, Roman Catholic Filipinos do attend 9-day morning mass - an early dawn mass celebration around 4 o'clock in the morning.

Aside from attending the mass, Filipinos are fond of buying the freshly cooked Filipino delicacies such as the bibingka and puto bumbong. It becomes a festival of food outside the church. :-)

Sanrio Visits the Philippines Christmas 2014

The Sanrio world conquers the Mall of Asia as the grand parade of lights pass along its corners. It is a grand parade where there are lit floats with Sanrio characters and dancers dancing every after float.

The parade starts every 6 o'clock in the evening of the mall hours which lasts for an hour. Before that time, people start to flock along the corners of the mall to witness the lively grand parade of lights.

Among the firsts to show up in the parade is Hello Kitty. She is waving to the guests around. Then, the crowd yells with so much joy seeing the characters of Sanrio World - start of the parade with so much fun!
